Brief History of St. Patrick’s Day in America

Where to start–

Potato blight? A woman, starved,

cradles a dead baby,  kneels.

St. Patrick explains the trinity

using a shamrock.

No Irish Need Apply

America, your children cut

paper clovers and pinch

each other, mean.

You get dead drunk .

You dye your rivers green.
