
Kimberly O’Connor was born and raised in North Carolin and now lives in Golden, Colorado. Her first bookĀ White LungĀ (Saturnalia Books, 2021) wonĀ North Carolina’s 2022 Brockman-Campbell Book Award and was a finalist for the 2022 Colorado Book Award. Kim teaches ethics and composition at Colorado School of Mines and creative writing at Community College of Denver. She received an MFA from the University of Maryland in 2009, where she won both the Academy of American Poetry student prize and the AWP Intro to Journals contest. Her poetry has been published inĀ B O D Y, Copper Nickel, Colorado Review, Harvard Review, Mid-American Review, MoonPark Review, Slice, storySouth, THRUSH, and elsewhere, and has twice been nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
